Total Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 pkg store-bought pizza dough
- 1 14-oz can crushed fire-roasted tomatoes
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup butternut squash, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 cup ground sausage, cooked
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 shallot, sliced
- 4 tbsp goat cheese
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- Basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the pizza dough according to the directions on the package. If using unbaked dough from the store, it often requires resting at room temperature for up to one hour.
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line a baking pan with parchment paper and place the butternut squash and garlic cloves on the pan. Drizzle with 1-2 tbsp olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the squash is fork-tender.
- In a small bowl, crush the roasted garlic with a garlic press and mix in the tomatoes. Add salt and pepper to taste and set aside.
- Stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle and place it on a pizza pan. Top with sauce.
- Continue topping the pizza, starting with the sausage and mozzarella cheese. Then, add the butternut squash, shallots, and goat cheese.
- Bake for 5 to 8 minutes, then set the oven broiler to low and cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes, or until the dough is cooked through and the cheese is bubbling and browned. (Note: Refer to the instructions on the pizza dough package and adjust cooking if needed.)
- Top with fresh basil and enjoy!
